چکیده
The faculty reward systems are extremely important in the education of future engineers. In a typical faculty reward system for many research universities, teaching is not considered as important as research activities. In this paper, the current faculty reward systems are critically reviewed with suggestions made for further improvements. Although there are encouraging signs, it is our belief that we must be able to measure the quality (instead of quantity) of teaching, research, and service so that a faculty member can be rewarded accordingly.
